Job Analyses Preparation - On-site visits are made to existing or potential employers to observe and accurately record job tasks and physical requirements and what modifications could be implemented in order to suit a job candidate. Video and Written Job Descriptions - On-site visits are made to very accurately and concisely capture the job tasks required for each position at a particular employer. Job Descriptions, as well as videos, can then be available for physicians to review and have a better concept of what an Injured Worker has to do on his /her job. By having a library of their positions, an employer eliminates the need to have a Rehabilitation Counselor view a job each time a physician is anticipating a work release for an Injured Worker. Job Descriptions aid in ADA compliance. Hypothetical Vocational Assessment Cant meet with your client? Do a hypothetical assessment based on previous work history to determine transferable skills, educational level, earnings history, and cross reference with a functional capacities evaluation to determine jobs and career opportunities your client may still be able to perform. If desired you could couple this with an Internet Labor Market Survey to locate suitable employment. Earnings Capacity Assessment - project lifetime lost earnings in present value terms. Assess pre- and post-injury earnings over all future years, with the resulting difference being the wage loss. This can be a vocational component of a Life Care Plan or as a stand alone assessment for negotiation purposes. Job Placement As a continuum to vocational case management or as a stand alone service, job placement is where the placement specialist will search, and locate appropriate positions and then refer them to your client with documentation. Job Retention Help the client who needs to deal with a new position, adjust to their work environment. Assist with how to deal with new supervisors unused to dealing with a functionally impaired worker. Address the issues that impede long- term job retention. Carrier Assisted Placement Program - Much better and ethical than any funded employment program, this allows the Vocational Counselor to place a Client in an actual documented position on a trial basis with an agreement that the Client will continue in a full time capacity. Any difficulties with the client continuing in this position would be documented with the client and employer, responsibilities spelled out and agreed to at the beginning of the program. |
