Computer & Work Readiness Instructor - Full TimeJob Description:The Computer/Work Readiness Instructor provides instruction in Microsoft Office Suite, Life Skills and Vocational/Job Development enrichment to participants of the Allegheny County EARN Program. Services are provided to individuals and multiple participants in a classroom/computer lab environment. Curriculum and training designs must address multiple levels of competency and fit the needs of the program participants. Duties:- Conduct classes, workshops, and demonstrations, and provide instructions one-on-one and in a group setting
- Provide instruction in basic to intermediate level computer/software applications
- Monitor participants’ progress to make suggestions for improvement and to ensure that they become proficient with popular office software programs
- Instruct participants individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations
- Instruct and monitor participants in the use and care of computer related equipment and materials to prevent injury and damage
- Prepare participants for further development by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks
- Develop curricula and plan course content and methods of instructions
- Provide individualized instruction and tutorial or remedial instruction
- Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with management/staff members and service providers
- Prepare and monitor attendance records of participants in the classroom or computer lab

Job Description:The Job Developer provides guidance, training and resources for participants in the Allegheny County EARN program to assist them in job seeking and employment maintenance. Duties:- Interview participants to assess employment readiness, interest, ability and skills
- Advise and assist participants to identify employment and/or other work related activities
- Create and conduct job readiness presentations for clients
- Solicit and develop job leads and interview opportunities for participants
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with employers of potential work sites and schedule participant interviews and subsequent placement, if needed
- Actively participate in the initial participant orientation process and associated services offered in the program
- Monitor employment and work activity placements in association with employers, wages, benefits, hours and job retention
- Compile, review, update and maintain required documentation and files associated with participants
- Establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with management/staff members, service providers and employers
- Maintain contact with participants, offer employment guidance, encouragement and assistance as needed
Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in a related field, plus 1-2 years of previous work experience in the field of human services or employment and training, interacting with socio-economic disadvantaged adult population, as a job developer or an educational environment preferred. - -or-
- Associates degree in a related field, plus 3-5 years of previous work experience in the field of human services or employment and training, interacting with socio-economic disadvantaged adult population, as a job developer or an educational environment preferred.

- 5 years of work related experience may be substituted in lieu of educational requirements.
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Act 33 & 34 clearance required
