Medical Liability

Performed by Medical Case Managers and/or Legal Nurse Consultants (LNC) with extensive clinical background and experience.

Benefits: Assists in determining liability. Lowers medical costs by reviewing file for unnecessary treatments and preexisting conditions.

Our Medical Case Managers :

• Address causation issues
• Medical review of file for questionable preexisting conditions which may impact the current injury or overlap with the current injury (example: Diabetes)
• Review and evaluate standard of care and charges for medical services, and determine what is reasonable and necessary.
• Recommendations for Peer Review or IME referrals as appropriate
• Review of file on any fatality for discovery
• Review of files involving medical conditions requiring special medical knowledge such as Amputations, Closed Head Injuries, Spinal Cord Injuries, Burns, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, TMJ, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Stress claims and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
• Crete or review of existing Life Care Plans for appropriateness, necessity and/or accuracy
